BC.Game Confirms It Won’t Compete In Upcoming BC Game Masters Championship
BC.Game has confirmed it won’t be competing in the recently announced BC Game Masters Championship. Vanta is hosting the event but BC.Game is the primary sponsor.
Valve’s conditions prohibit S1mple and the rest of his team from competing without explicit permission. But, BC.Game confirmed in a post on X.com (formerly Twitter) that it would not be taking part, “to avoid any speculation”.
The BC Game Masters Championship
The BC Game Masters Championship was announced at the beginning of the month. The event is open to any team willing to pay the $2,000 entry fee and will offer a $50,000 prize pool. The winning team will take home a $30,000 prize. Registration opened on February 10 and closes on March 10. At the time of writing, nearly 50 teams have entered, with more likely to follow.
Registration closes on March 10, with the event running March 24-26. While the competition is open to all, with no VRS invitations, it is VRS eligible.
The top 8 VRS teams will go through to the main event at the Nexus Gamers Pub. Group games are best-of-1, with eliminations and deciders being best-of-3.
The BC.Game Roster
That VRS eligibility could have proven useful to BC.Game. S1mple’s team currently sits 16th in the European VRS standings, with the top 17 being invited to the IEM Cologne Major – the first Major of the year – in June.
BC.Game recently secured a 16th-place finish at IEM Atlanta, which Team Vitality won. S1mple is the team’s standout performer. The rest of the roster consists of electroNic, aragornN, krazy, and MUTiRiS. The latter three only joined the team in January, so they are still finding their feet playing together.
Currently, BC.Game is a decent tier-2 team and has the potential to become a top-tier organisation with more experience playing together.
