Max Verstappen’s Team Redline Officially Rebrands As Verstappen Sim Racing

Team Redline has officially announced it has rebranded as Verstappen Sim Racing. The team was effectively already part of Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen’s team anyway, but the brand change affirms the Belgian driver’s dedication to the cause.

The team has competed and won at the highest level on several virtual motorsport platforms. It won consecutive Esports World Cup titles in 2024 and 2025, the ESL R1 Esports World Cup Championship in 2024, and the IndyCar iRacing Pro Series Title, also in 2024.

Tweeting about the announcement, Verstappen also reiterated his belief that “sim racing can develop real talent, and we’re already seeing that with Chris Lulham.”

Lulham’s Success

Verstappen’s Team Redline teammate, Lulham, was a successful karter on the junior circuit. But the costs saw him pivot to sim racing.

In 2024, the British driver self-funded entry in the Radical Cup UK, which he dominated, winning 16 of 18 races. That success saw Verstappen’s team fund Lulham’s entries into the GTWC Sprint and Endurance competitions.

In the opening round, Lulham and co-driver Thierry Vermeulen picked up a third-placed podium finish.

Verstappen said: “It has always been my dream to support young drivers, and for a while now, I have been trying to create the possibility for a sim driver to progress to real-world racing.”

What Next For Verstappen Sim Racing

Verstappen Sim Racing is expected to compete at this year’s Esports World Cup, in July and August. Trackmania has replaced Rennsports in this year’s competition.

The competition will see 32 teams face off for a share of the $500,000 prize pool. Trackmania is also set to feature in November’s Esports Nations Cup, although that sees drivers compete for their nations rather than teams.

In his tweet, Verstappen said: “Sim racing is a big passion of mine outside Formula 1, and Team Redline has been a big part of that. It is where I spend a lot of my time off track, and part of what I am building with Verstappen Racing. This step to Verstappen Sim Racing feels very natural.

“We’re taking everything we’ve achieved and bringing it closer in line with the wider Verstappen Racing platform. I’ve always believed that sim racing can develop real talent, and we’re already seeing that with Chris Lulham.”
