Team Liquid Adds Trackmania Competitor Epos To Roster Ahead Of Inaugural World Cup Listing
Team Liquid has announced the addition of Epos to its Esports team. Epos joins as a Trackmania expert, having briefly held the position as world number one, holds one Track Of The Day world record, on Watern’t 3, and won May 2024’s Monthly Cup Grand Final.
Trackmania launched two decades ago, with the current competitive version being Trackmania 2020. The game is, predominantly, a test of driving skill across different tracks. Particularly noteworthy is the game’s use of different surfaces to test a driver’s mettle.
While it is a somewhat niche eSports title, it does generate decent interest on Twitch and has a dedicated following. It also has a strong competitive scene with the annual TrackMania World Cup and a raft of other competitions.
Trackmania At EWC 2026
This year, however, represents its first inclusion in the Esports World Cup. 32 players will take part, competing for a share of the $500,000 prize pool. The group stage will feature four-player lobbies and a double-elimination bracket with the top eight from each group advancing to the playoffs. The remaining 16 players will face single-elimination matches, culminating in a single World Cup winner.
After the World Cup, Trackmania is also making its debut in the Nations Cup in November. 32 competitors, representing their home nations, will compete for the $250,000 prize pool.
Esports Signings
Under the Team Liquid banner, and indeed with the team’s newly designed in-game livery, Epos is currently participating in the Elite Cup. He currently sits in 27th place, with 44 points, and will be hoping to make his way up the table. The top eight players on May 31 will qualify for the EWC 2026, and the top 16 qualify for the Nations Cup.
Team Liquid isn’t the only team adding Trackmania rosters. Last month, Team Falcons, the dual EWC Club Championship winners, announced the signing of Carl Jr. – the all-time Trackmania greatest player.
