Team Liquid Wins BLAST Slam VI With Victory Over NAVI

Team Liquid overcame Natus Vincere in the finals to win the DOTA 2 BLAST Slam VI tournament. Liquid walks away with a combined $400,000 in prize money, broken down as $300,000 in prize money and $100,000 in team earnings.

NATI took a total of $200,000 for its second-place finish. OG and Team Yandex finished 3rd and 4th, respectively. In total, the top 12 teams shared a combined $1m in prize money.

Team Liquid And NAVI Progress

Team Liquid had an inauspicious start, finishing third in its group with a record of seven wins and four losses. That finish left them facing GamerLegion in the play-in. A resounding 2-0 win saw them progress to the playoffs.

Liquid knocked Team Falcons out in the quarterfinals with a close 3-2 victory. The semifinals represented much less of a challenge, if results are anything to go by, as OG Esports were dispatched with a 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, NAVI topped its group to progress directly through to the playoffs but only narrowly beat Team Yandex 3-2 to set up a final with Team Liquid.

In the final, Team Liquid took the first map before NAVI responded by winning the second. However, Liquid went on to win the next two maps and secure BLAST Slam victory.

Liquid Stability

Tundra, the four-time reigning champions, were eliminated after losing 2-0 to HEROIC, which means BLAST Slam VI has seen a changing of the guard. The Netherlands-based outfit’s success came from stability and endurance, rather than any exceptional plays, although they did come alive in the best-of-5 stages.

They also effectively dealt with the Largo meta, primarily by eliminating heroes that combine well with the bard frog. With most teams having developed builds around the hero, Liquid’s tactic effectively neutralised the threat.

They did deploy Largo themselves, on occasion, but it was their negation of Largo’s threat that really stood out. Team Liquid will be hoping their form will carry over throughout the season and into EWC 2026’s DOTA 2 event. They face PaIN Gaming this Friday in DreamLeague Season 28, where they currently sit in 3rd place in Group A and are guaranteed progression to the second group phase.
