Team Vitality Has Withdrawn From RENNSPORT Sim Racing

Team Vitality has announced it has dropped its RENNSPORT roster and is exiting the game’s esports ecosystem. The French team blamed a lack of sustainability in the sim racing esports ecosystem. While they have committed to retaining their Gran Turismo roster until at least the end of the year, the news is foreboding for the rest of Vita’s racers.

In a post on x.com, Vitality said: “After more than two years, it is unfortunately time for us to say farewell to Marcell Csincsik, Erhan Jajovski, Thibault Cazaubon and Jiri Toman, who previously competed as part of our RENNSPORT sim racing lineup.”

They went on to add: “The current sim racing esports ecosystem no longer has a foundation within which teams can sustainably operate. Despite our optimism and ambition to elevate the space, we came to the realization that the plans we originally laid out would no longer be attainable.”

The Team Vitality Roster

Vitality’s RENNSPORT roster did enjoy success. It finished 2nd in the EWC 2024 RENNSPORT, and third at EWC 2025. However, RENNSPORT was dropped from this year’s tournament.

The most recent iteration of the roster included Thibault Cazaubon, Marcell Csincsik, Erhan Jajovski, and Jiri Toman. It’s unclear what will happen to the roster – whether they will be picked up by another team, or if they will be forced to move over to other games as RENNSPORT loses its esports place.

Sim Racing Esports

Sim racing is a popular genre of esports, although its viewership figures have levelled off in the past few years.

Crossovers with real-world racing have become prominent. The F1 Sim Racing World Championship, which recently crowned its youngest ever world champion, is run by Formula 1.

Away from crossovers, the Gran Turismo Championship Hub and Esports Racing League are popular competitions. Gran Turismo also features in the Nations Cup.

Sim Racing At EWC 2026

In the World Cup, which is currently taking place in Paris, RENNSPORT was the sim racer of choice for the first two years. However, it was dropped from this year’s event and replaced by Trackmania. At EWC 2025, RENNSPORT only managed to achieve a 10,000 peak viewer figure. It will be interesting to see if Trackmania can better that.

EWC 2026 Trackmania takes place in the tournament’s final week. The group stages kick off on August 19, with the final setting on August 22.
