BC.Game has announced a new Counter-Strike 2 tournament. The tournament, which will take place in March this year, carries a $50,000 prize pool and is open to all teams, with seeding based on VRS Rankings. The Vanta-hosted LAN event will take place at the Nexus Gamers Pub in Bucharest, Romania. Teams will have to pay a $2,000 entry fee with registration opening this coming week.

BC.Game Masters Championship Open Tournament

The newly announced tournament will run from March 24-26, broken down into two sections. The group stage will feature Best-of-1 matches. Eliminations and deciders consist of Best-of-3 matchups. The tournament’s conclusion will see teams competing in Best-of-3 playoffs.

Registration for the BC.Game Masters Championship opens up on February 10. All teams are subject to a $2,000 entry fee. The top eight VRS-ranked teams will progress as seeded teams and head straight into the main event. Critically, any team, including all global region teams, can enter the competition. The tournament is also listed as being Valve Ranked Tier 2 compliant, which means it can act as a route into future, closed competitions.

The winning team will walk away with $30,000, second place will take $10,000, and third place will bag $5,000. The remaining $5,000 of prizes will be awarded to the teams who place 4th to 8th.

In terms of hardware, rigs will be rocking Ryzen 9800x3D CPUs and Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, with 32GB DDR5 5600MHz RAM, 400MHz BenQ Zowie monitors and Acezone headsets.

The prize money pails in comparison to events like IEM, with its $1m pool, or the Esports World Cup’s $2m CS2 pot. But the big events are typically only open to the top-ranked teams. The top eight VRS-ranked teams will be seeded at the Masters Championship and will progress to the main playoffs event, but the tournament is open to all. The event is also VRS eligible, so performance will count towards future standings.
