Team Vitality Wins PGL Cluj-Napoca With 3-0 Final Win Over PARIVISION
Team Vitality beat PARIVISION 3-0 in the PGL Cluj-Napoca grand final. The win represents the French team’s second major Counter-Strike victory of the year, having already claimed IEM Krakow.
Its continued dominance secures the team’s position as the best Counter-Strike team in the world right now. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut also made history, becoming the first player to rack up 30 MVPs in his career.
Team Vitality Wins PGL Cluj-Napoca
The PGL Cluj-Napoca tournament ran from February 14 – 22. 16 of the world’s best teams were invited, and this year’s lineup was exceptionally strong.
During the group stage, Vita beat G2 Esports 2-1 in the opening round before dispatching The MongolZ 2-1 in the second. A third-round 2-0 victory against last year’s champions, MOUZ, finished setting the scene.
They then went on to win a clean sweep against Aurora before beating the MongolZ again, this time with an improved 2-0 scoreline.
In the final, PARIVISION got off to a great start with a 4-0 lead on the first map. But, ultimately, Vitality proved too strong and walked away 3-0 winners.
ZywOo Adds Another MVP Win
Although Shahar “flameZ” Shushan outperformed ZywOo in the playoffs and the finals, ZywOo’s dominance in the group stage saw him finish the event with a 1.39 rating, taking the MVP award.
ZywOo has now claimed 30 MPVs, putting him well ahead of any other players. BC.Game’s Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is the closest contender, but his 21 awards mean he has some way to go, especially as the gap keeps growing.
Team Vitality Looking For More Wins
Vitality, which has now racked up the third-highest lifetime winnings in competitive Counter-Strike tournaments, is in action in March. The team is competing in the BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026. apEX’s team takes on 9z in the upper bracket opening round on March 19 and is competing for a share of the event’s $1.1m prize pool.
We can also expect to see Vita in ESL majors, as the team has a shot at completing the ESL Grand Slam VI challenge and walking away with a $1m prize for doing so.
Vitality won the Grand Slam last year and would become the first team to win it twice, let alone twice in succession. It has the next five events to emerge victorious.
