PLG Astana 2026 Playoff Teams Decided

PGL Astana’s group games have concluded. MOUZ, Falcons, FURIA, magic, G2, and Aurora have joined Spirit and 9z in the playoffs.

The business end of the tournament starts on Friday and concludes on Sunday, with 9z taking on magic, Furia competing against Falcons, and Spirit competing against G2.

Spirit’s impressive showing in the group, coupled with Vitality’s absence, means they still look the most likely winner. However, 9z has impressed and has a good chance against magic. Meanwhile, PARIVISION and the MongolZ, both top ten teams, have been eliminated.

Spirit and 9z qualified with 3:0 records, letting them take in the Astana action from the sidelines for a couple of days.

MOUZ

Led by new IGL, xertioN, who ended the group stage with a 1.34 rating, MOUZ qualified with a 3:1 record. They lost out to 9z but picked up 2:1 wins against Gentle Mates and G2, and swept Aurora aside 2:0 in their final group game. The German team’s quarter-final is a repeat of that final group game matchup so they will be hoping to move on to Saturday’s semis.

Falcons

Falcons also lost out to 9z in the group stage, losing 2:1. But, they were also triumphant against K27 (2:0), Monte (2:0), and The MongolZ (2:1). Their performances were questionable, which has been the story of their year so far, and they will need to come together to progress further.

FURIA

New signing molodoy helped Furia progress through the group stages with a 3:1 record. They opened with a 2:0 win over Monte before recording the same scoreline against HEROIC. A 2:1 loss to Spirit followed, but the Brazilian roster came through their final game, against Gentle Mates, 2:1. Molodoy ended the group stage with a 1.47 rating – the second highest, after donk.

Magic

Magic might have made difficult work of the group stages, but they will be buoyed by overturning two early losses to progress with a 3:2 record. They lost 2:0 to The Mongolz and Monte before turning things around with 2:0 and 2:1 wins over K27 and HEROIC. Their final game against Gentle Mates finished 2:0.

G2

G2 beat collegiate team Fisher College in their first match before losing two on the trot, to MOUZ and The MongolZ. But they recovered well, with a 2:1 victory over PARIVISION, eliminating the Serbian team. Their final match saw them beat Monte 2:0.

Aurora

Aurora’s run in the group stages was all or nothing. They lost 2:0 to HEROIC and MOUZ, and beat The Huns, PARIVISION, and The MongolZ by the same scoreline.
