17 Gaming Overcomes EWC Disappointment To Win Games Of The Future 2026 PUBG

Chinese team, 17 Gaming, recovered from a disappointing 11th-placed EWC 2026 finish to pick up the Games of the Future 2026 PUBG trophy. They finished ahead of GAM The Expandables and Team Vitality, who finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

17 Gaming walk away with the $300,000 first prize with GAM The Expendables taking $120,000 and Vita collecting $100,000. Home team and long outsiders, DIGA Esports, took 14th spot.

The Games of the Future continues in Astana this week. As well as Dota 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports events, the tournament also includes 5 phygital games that see players compete in physical and digital versions of sports like football and basketball.

After finishing EWC 2026 PUBG in 11th place at the end of July, 17 Gaming didn’t have a lot of recovery time. Just over a week later, the heavily fancied Chinese team were in Astana for this year’s Games of the Future.

Games Of The Future PUBG

The tournament format saw 16 teams competing in 15 matches. Points were awarded for places, with 1st place offering 10 points, down to a 7th/8th position finish giving a single point. Every kill also earned a point. 17 Gaming bagged 2 wins and 2 third-placed finishes.

They secured 44 placement points, on a par with Team Vitality, but 4 points behind GAM The Expendables. But their offensive prowess saw them rack up 87 kill points, ahead of Twisted Minds’ 74 points.

In total,  17Team picked up 131 points, enough to land the win and the $300,000 prize. GTE finished in second with 120 points, while Vita walked off with 106 points, marginally ahead of Twisted Minds with 105 points.

More 17 Gaming Fixtures

Despite disappointment at EWC 2026, 17 Gaming has enjoyed a strong year, winning the PUBG Champions League 2026: Spring in May. They are already back in action, participating in the PGS Circuit 2026 Circuit 3 Series, where they currently sit back in 12th position.
