LGD, Liquid, And Rune Eaters Advance Through EWC 2026 Dota 2 Survival Round 1
Round 2 of the Valorant Esports World Cup Dota 2 tournament has almost been set. LGD, Team Liquid, and Rune Eaters all progressed, but the match between PTime and Vici Gaming has been postponed. Organisers have pointed to a competitive integrity issue.
No time for the rescheduled match has been provided, and there hasn’t been any updates regarding the situation, yet.
LGD To Meet BB Team
LGD swept aside MOUZ 2-0 in the first survival round, meeting expectations. In truth, LGD made short work of MOUZ but will need to step up if they want to emerge victorious from their round 2 survival match against BB Team. The new roster continues to look strong after its 2nd placed finish at Blast Slam VII.
BB Team finished second in group A, behind Team Falcons, without losing a match. BB Team has proven consistently stronger than LGD over the season.
Team Liquid To Play Team Spirit
Liquid overcame Xtreme Gaming 2-1 in the first survival round and will now face Team Spirit with the winner progressing to the quarter finals.
Spirit came through the group stages unbeaten and are expected to progress against Liquid, but this could the tightest of the round 2 games.
Aurora Gaming Await Rune Eaters
Rune Eaters saw out a reverse sweep to surprise Virtus.pro in their first survival game. Rune Eaters are competing in their first tier-1 event and they have already exceeded pre-tournament expectations.
Aurora have had a very competitive year. They finished 2nd in Dream League Season 28 and PGL Wallachia Season 8, and won FISSURE Universe Episode 8. On paper, this should be an easy victory for Aurora.
Postponed Match
There was supposed to be another survival match today, between PTime and Vici Gaming.
However, event organisers posted an update to x.com stating “PTime’s scheduled match vs Vici Gaming will be rescheduled as a precaution after an integrity issue was identified and referred for review.”
They went on to say that “further information on the revised match schedule will follow.”
However, with the next stage due to be played tomorrow, time is running out for the game to be rescheduled, and EWC has not provided any further updates. There is speculation that there may have been questionable betting activity, leading to an investigation.
